Sawyer Military-Style Permethrin Soak
Get the Same Long-Lasting Clothing Treatment Used on Military Uniforms.
The advantage of permethrin solution is its long duration of protection. One application (soaking) lasts a minimum of 6 weeks and through 6 washings. Permethrin solution is an excellent choice for overseas travelers who are visiting tropical countries where malaria is a threat. When used in conjunction with a skin repellent, you can achieve>99% protection against insect bites.
The active ingredient, permethrin, is chemically related to a substance called pyrethrin, found in certain flowers. Not only does permethrin repel insects, it actually kills, or knocks down ticks, mosquitoes, chiggers, mites and more than 100 other kinds of insects - but is harmless to humans!.
Each application kit contains one 6-oz. bottle of permethrin solution, 1 treatment bag, waterproof gloves, and instructions. One kit is sufficient to treat a set of garments consisting of a shirt, trousers, and socks or one mosquito net. Soak your items in the permethrin/water solution for 2 hours, hang to dry and stay protected for 6 weeks.
- Repels and kills mosquitoes and ticks that may carry malaria, West Nile virus, Lyme disease and other insect-transmitted diseases.
- For use on clothing and mosquito nets.
- Can be used on children's clothing.
- Odorless and non-staining.
For long lasting protection in a soak, this kit provides the same permethrin formula as the spray, but in a soak treatment that is effective for a minimum of 6 weeks or 6 launderings.
Kit includes: one resealable treatment bag, one 6 oz. bottle 0.5% permethrin and one pair of waterproof gloves. Ironing your items and/or placing treated items in a plastic bag can prolong effectiveness.
